Negative thoughts like monkeys jumping from one branch to another without stopping; they never bring you a happy day and peaceful life. If you control your monkey mind as same as controlling the waves, then you would become a victim of your negative thoughts.
The only way is to pay attention (mindfulness) to your negative thoughts - be aware of their emergence, so your disturbing thoughts will be calmed down gradually. Your mind once is quiet completely, it cannot be shuffled again. TNTQ
