Light and darkness are two
sides on our way. Usually, we go toward the light and leave darkness behind us.
We all practice some kinds
of religion to follow the path of light, as the precepts or commandments
helping us to live those ideals; they teach us to do the right things in order
to guide us to abandon bad things and practice good deeds, transform the
selfish ego into selfless compassion to others. The bright path we are on offer
some beliefs in truth, as true love, understanding; and on the other side of
the path is the darkness of ignorance, hatred and suffering…
However, in the light of the
path, the other half is darkness, we think that we have escaped from the
darkness; actually, we are still in one half of the darkness of a path.
The one half light of a day
is over, so the darkness envelops us. In the half is the suffering world, there
is our shadow, and we have to live with it, have to think about it, as like as
a Bodhisattva’s thinking of infinite compassion.
Darkness is not darkness,
because darkness is moving to light, just as light is moving toward darkness.
It is during our darkest moments that we light a bright light in the darkness,
and the darkness becomes marvelous. Other way, we have strong ability to
transform darkness into tranquil energy in the sky (mind) twinkling stars.
When faced with darkness
(negative thoughts), take a look inside, recognize it, and know it as dark
thinking, so the darkness becomes light. We cannot extinguish darkness; we just
need to light of the mindful candle to apprehend it; the light does not come
from an extermination of darkness, but the light is to illuminate for darkness.
In the dark we have light,
the light of wisdom and compassion, and the light of calm and peace from
within. When we realize we are no longer the opposite of darkness, at this
time, dark and light begin to touch each other, and that's time we really have
freedom.
