I, PHẨM ĐÔI

1.Ý dẫn khởi các pháp,

Ý chủ, ý tạo tác,

Nếu với ý ô nhiễm,

Hoặc nói, hay biểu hiện,

Thì đau khổ theo người,

Như xe theo chân thú.

I, THE PAIRS

1. All phenomena are led by mind,

The mind is the master, the mind creates everything.

If with a contaminated mind one speaks or acts,

So that suffering always follows him

Like the wheels run behind the cow’s foot.

一、雙品

 諸法 意先導，

意主, 意造作。

若以染污意，

或語, 或行業，

是則苦隨彼，

如輪隨獸足 .(了參 法師 譯)

 

I, YAMAKAVAGGA

1. Manopubbaṅgamā dhammā manoseṭṭhā manomayā

Manasā ce paduṭṭhena bhāsati vā karoti vā

Tato naṃ dukkhamanveti cakkaṃ'va vahato padaṃ.

 

Chú thích:

1.「manopubbaṅgamā 意前導的、心前導的, preceded by mind. 」

2.「dhammā  諸法, All phenomena

3.「manoseṭṭhā 意為首領的, mind as a master」

4.「manomayā 意所造的,mind is the place to create」

*Manopubbaṅgamā dhammā manoseṭṭhā manomayā/諸法是意所前導的、心意為首領的、意所造的/All phenomena are led by mind. The mind is the master, the mind creates everything/Tất cả hiện tượng được dẫn khởi bởi ý, ý là chủ, ý tạo nên tất cả.

7.「paduṭṭhena 污染,  impure, contaminated,  bad 」

8.「manasā paduṭṭhena 以污染意, with a contaminated mind」

9.「bhāsati 說, speaks」

10.「vā 或, or」

11.「karoti 作,行業, acts」

*Manasā ce paduṭṭhena bhāsati vā karoti vā/如果他以污染的意去說或作/ If with contaminated mind one speaks or acts/Nếu với ý ô nhiễm mà người kia khi nói hay làm

12.「tato 由於此, thence」

13.「naṃ 那,that」

14.「dukkham 苦,suffering」

15.「anveti 跟隨, follows」

16.「cakkaṃ 輪子,the wheel」

17.「va 像, like」

18.「vahato 牛的, animal’s」

19.「padaṃ 腳、足,  the foot」

*Tato naṃ dukkhamanveti cakkaṃ'va vahato padaṃ/痛苦就會跟著他，像車輪跟著牛足/so that suffering always follows him, like the wheels run behind the cow’s foot/thì đau khổ luôn theo người ấy, giống như bánh xe lăn theo sau chân con vật (kéo) xe.
